Jump-start the battery of a hybrid vehicle

I have heard rumors that it is tricky to jump-start the battery of a hybrid car.
I am looking for confirmation that it is the same process required for jump-starting a regular vehicle – or that it is not. I just need to clarify things first.
What are the problems, if any, and what do I have to worry about?
